We have completed extensive mapping of the Melbourne area and have detailed flood level information for properties for the 1 in 100 year flood.

How do I find out if a property is affected by flooding?

There are three ways you can find out if a property is likely to be affected by flooding and obtain a Flood Level Certificate.

1. Contact Anstat

Anstat Property Information is one of Victoria's leading providers of property certificates and titles searches online.

You can order flood level information from Anstat online or phone +61 3 9278 1172.

2. Contact LANDATA®

LANDATA® is the online service delivery arm of Land Registry, a part of the Department of Sustainability and Environment.

You can order flood level information from LANDATA® online or phone +61 3 8636 2456.

3. Contact your retail water company

Property Information Statements are available from Melbourne's retail water companies. They contain current property flood level information from Melbourne Water.

These statements also provide relevant water, sewerage and drainage asset information useful to landowners, conveyancers, prospective purchasers and property development consultants.

Property Information Statements may be included within a Vendor Statement or Section 32 Certificate for any property for sale.

A Property Information Statement can be obtained by calling:

City West Water: 131 691
Yarra Valley Water: 131 721
South East Water: 131 694

Can I still build if my property is affected by flooding?

If your property is in an area subject to flooding, your development must be designed to ensure that buildings are protected and any impact on neighbouring properties is minimised.
