Trainees
About our Trainee Program
Each year Melbourne Water engages a number of trainees to work in a range of roles across our business. Trainees work under the guidance and supervision of experienced team members and contribute to ensuring the day-to-day responsibilities of the team are met.
While on a traineeship, the trainee also works towards a qualification such as:
- Certificate II in Water Industry Operations
- Certificate III Business Administration
- Certificate IV in Local Government (Planning)
Trainees at Melbourne Water have worked in the following areas:
- Water Supply Operations
- Eastern Treatment Plant Operations
- Western Treatment Plant Operations
- Sewerage Transfer Operations
- Developer Services
What do we look for in Trainees?
Candidates need to be able to demonstrate:
- A positive attitude and willingness to work and learn in a team environment
- Good communication skills and a strong focus on customer service
- Analytical and problem solving skills
- An interest in working in the water industry
